All the counselling sessions are led by you and driven by what is important to you. I embrace working creatively if it is hard to express yourself with words using painting, roleplay or writing.
Often difficulties within relationships arise from past traumas, ones that have been insufficiently dealt with. These traumas can often present in the form of destructive and unhelpful coping strategies such as addictions, eating disorders, habitual behaviours and intrusive thought processes. This can appear very frightening at times which leads to feelings of anxiety and an overwhelming sense of stress, pressure or sadness. With this in mind, I also explore reactions and responses and offer a deeper look into one’s self.
I provide a space of safety and support where you can freely explore yourself and build a deeper awareness. ultimately you can enable a deeper connection with yourself, more meaningful relationships with others and bring about real change.
I am a qualified therapeutic counsellor in Poole and I am passionate about helping people to get to their happy place. I will come beside you and listen to you without judgment. I will support you through challenging times and question your beliefs but never will never tell you the answers or what to do. I will empower you to be the best version of you.
My aim is not only to help you explore your past but also explore your present. In time, this may help you to find acceptance, peace with your past and enable you to have a better understanding of your future.
I work integratively, which means that I utilise a number of different theoretical modalities in tailoring a unique approach that best suits you in a creative way. I also use CBT techniques which are proven to be very effective and help overcome anxiety.

I love this poem as it really describes what you can expect from me as a counsellor.
why Am I Here? I am here to listen, not to work miracles I am here to help you discover what you are feeling, not to make things go away I am here to help you identify your options, not to decide for you what you should do I am here to discuss steps with you, not to take the steps for you I am here to help you discover your own strengths, not to rescue you and leave you vulnerable I am here to help you to discover that you can help yourself, not to take responsibility for you I am here to help you to choose, not to make it unnecessary for you to make difficult choices I am here to provide support for your change
